urban planning and conceptual Design
In nearly five years at Johnson Engineering, I've completed many different projects of varying scope and size throughout Southwest Florida. The following selection of projects have been presented to the general public or are on public record and showcase my strong graphic, design, and mapping abilities. The work is intended to present my technical skills and design capabilities through explaining my responsibilities.
Disclaimer: I am in no way indicating ownership of the work presented.

US 41 EAST CORRIDOR ZONING OVERLAY
According to the Collier County project website, “The goal of the US 41 East Corridor Zoning Overlay Project is to prepare and implement a zoning overlay that reflects community input, promotes economic vitality, and both encourages a mix of land uses and includes development standards that address the community’s needs as envisioned in the East Naples Community Development Plan.”
During the preliminary planning and research phase of this project, my team reviewed previous studies and existing data, layered and analyzed various mapping information, and presented our findings to the community in a creative, aesthetic, and cohesive manner. My role in this effort included collecting, analyzing and presenting transportation, land use, environmental, infrastructure, and other data that contributed to two map exhibits, accessible by the buttons below. The Context Map presents the contextual elements surrounding the corridor and the Conditions and Constraints Exhibit presents various conditions along the corridor that may cause constraints to land development regulations proposed by the overlay. Due to the length of the corridor, the each exhibit is broken down into two segments. I used both AutoCAD and ArcMap GIS to create the map data contents and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for aesthetic purposes. These exhibits were used as an aide to the general public at the community information meeting, for working groups at the stakeholder meeting, and by county staff for discussion in Spring 2022. They will be used throughout the project to guide the proposed Land Development Code language for the new US 41 East Corridor Zoning Overlay. The project is expected to go back to public outreach with the draft overlay language in November 2022 and is expected to go through the public hearing process and adoption in early 2023.

GOLDEN GATE CITY ACTIVTY CENTER
Golden Gate City in Collier County, Florida has been subject to over a decade of master planning efforts and studies intended to change development standards to reflect the needs of the community to create a walkable, safe, and economically rich environment.
Working under my direct supervisor, I reviewed examples of successful community precedents, community preferences from past studies, and existing development standards in order to create a visionary concept master plan for the City’s central Activity Center along Golden Gate Parkway. This research included contextual analysis of existing conditions and possible opportunities for pedestrian connections.

I developed various iterations of a new plan after I visited the site, drafted alternatives and bubble diagrams, and reviewed different development standards such as building heights and setbacks, sidewalk widths, tree spacing. I created the final drafted linework on AutoCAD and rendered the plan on Photoshop. In later phases, I created a 3D model of the plan on SketchUp to provide to a subcontracted illustrator which enabled them to create an the artistic perspective render in the material series.

SKYPLEX
Skyplex Business Park is part of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) operated by the Lee County Port Authority (LCPA), who were my team's clients for this project. In 2018, for marketing purposes, The LCPA set out to render the business park with the expansion of an additional +/-300 acres in order to gain the interest of developers. Working in a group of two under my direct supervisor, my role on this project focused on creating linework and layout of the roadways, pathways, parking, and buildings to enable my teammate to render the plan on Adobe Photoshop. My work included review of current Lee County Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan for development regulations and parameters, reviewing precedent business parks, manual sketching and planning, integrating multiple AutoCAD drawings and drafting, and rendering support.

Golden Gate parkway Complete Street Study
As part of the Golden Gate Parkway Complete Street Study completed by Johnson Engineering's transportation team for Collier County, I provided graphic support by rendering roadway cross sections, designing the report cover, and designing a flyer for public outreach using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. After the transportation team technically designed the roadway cross sections on AutoCAD, I exported and rendered the alternatives on Adobe Photoshop with oversight of our landscape architect and transportation engineer.

City of Naples Branding
For a series of public meetings facilitated by Johnson Engineering for the City of Naples, I created the following branding scheme and documents using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. They embrace the color schemes of the City of Naples crest and uses an image of the iconic Port of Naples.
